Spiritual Seduction

Babylon the Great - also known as The Great Prostitute - is quite prominent in the book of Revelation. Whoever or whatever or wherever she is, she is addressed from chapters 14 through nineteen and much is made of God's judgment of her.

So who is she and what are we supposed to do about her?

Beware! She is a seductress who lures people to destruction!

Proverbs 7:21–27(ESV)
21With much seductive speech she persuades him; with her smooth talk she compels him.
22All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fast
23till an arrow pierces its liver; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know that it will cost him his life.
24And now, O sons, listen to me, and be attentive to the words of my mouth.
25Let not your heart turn aside to her ways; do not stray into her paths,
26for many a victim has she laid low, and all her slain are a mighty throng.
27Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.

Divine Justice

As the world spirals into greater depths of depravity and further from faith in the God of the Bible, we are tempted to think God is losing control. Maybe God is even losing the battle.

Revelation chapter fifteen tells about the moments toward the end of the great tribulation when Satan is empowering the Antichrist who holds power over the entire world.  For years the believers have been persecuted and killed for their faith.  It doesn't get much darker than this.

But these eight verses remind us that God is still in control and things are going to turn out right.  Divine Justice will prevail.

Easter Sunday: The Resurrection Paradigm

Because of the Resurrection Paradigm the disciples of Jesus Christ see the world through new eyes. The logic that guides their decisions and their values is different than it was before Christ arose from the dead. The are freed from sin and death and courageous in the name of their living Savior, Jesus Christ!
