In John chapter twelve we come to the "Triumphal Entry" of Jesus into Jerusalem. That is an ironic title when you think about it. He didn't come on a war-horse brandishing a sword and declaring his victory. He came, instead, on a young donkey, in humility.
The people welcomed Jesus enthusiastically on that day, but less than a week later they would be in the crowd that called for his crucifixion and said, "We have not king but Caesar."
Jesus is the great King. But he is a big disappointment to people who are looking for fulfillment in this world's system.
