Each of the gospels presents a slightly different perspective on the trials of Jesus. John focuses primarily on Jesus' interaction with the Roman procurator, Pilate. You know that Pilate eventually sends Jesus to the cross. By looking at the pronouncements that Pilate makes about Jesus, John makes some important points.
