Sometimes people have tried to use force to get people to convert to their religion. The crusades were an example of this approach - and some Christian hymns still seem to promote this idea of battle for the cause of Christ. Should we be using force to make people Christian? Should we try to legislate people into Christian behavior?
Consider the contrast between Jesus and Peter at the time of Jesus' arrest and trial. Peter had one perspective, but Jesus had another. What perspective should we have?
