The Most Important Things

Paul had been under arrest for years, had been denied justice, had been shipwrecked, had been bitten by a viper, and was now in a Roman prison waiting for trial before the notoriously unstable Emperor Nero. There was a fair chance he would be killed.

But when Paul writes to the Philippians he says that the things that have happened to him are actually for the best. In this passage, Paul teaches us what is most important in our lives as Christians.

Are you able to say honestly, "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain?"
